This past Thursday, 11 ADMA students, under the guidance of 2 ADMA graduates, livestreamed the opening ceremony of the newly constructed Intore Learning Community at Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV) in Rwamagana, Eastern Province.
To prepare, the team arrived on Wednesday morning to setup the gear, test, and rehearse. They then stayed overnight, and on Thursday livestreamed the ceremony which included a discussion with ASYV graduates (moderated by a current ASYV student), speeches by stakeholders, and words of encouragement and celebration by ASYV supporters/partners from around the world who were also participating in the livestream via Zoom.
After the discussions, the event (and livestream) moved to the roof of the new building where there were musical and dancing performances, food, celebrations, as well as paintings being created live by ASYV students in the courtyard.
One other part of this event that was inspiring, was that ASYV students were present the entire time (for ADMA location scouting, setups, testing, etc.), and some of these ASYV students assisted ADMA members, and were able to learn new skills as well!
Overall the event (and livestream by ADMA) was a great success, and those present, and around the world, were able to witness and participate in the launch of this important addition to ASYV’s mission which empowers orphaned and vulnerable Rwandan youth to build lives of dignity and contribute to a better world.
